There are many NBA superstars who have decided or in fact signed to play for the Chinese Basketball Association this coming season owing to the longest lock out in NBA. Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul who are on a promotional tour of China have expressed their desire to play in the Chinese basketball championships this year. But the point guard of the Phoenix team, Steve Nash, has said in an interview in Shanghai that he is not interested in playing in the cash rich league in China and would like to play for the Phoenix in the upcoming season.
Steve Nash said that he would have come and played in the Chinese Basketball Championship if he did not have to take care of his three daughters. He is sorry for his die hard fans in China for letting them down despite the basketball league in China being an awesome one. There are a lot of opportunities for players from all over the world in the Chinese league. But he wants to be with his family and friends during the vacation rather than playing in the Chinese Basketball league. Nash is on a four day charity visit to China.
Nash is not interested in being traded for the upcoming season. He has expressed his willingness to play for his Phoenix side in the 2012 NBA Championship. Steve Nash started his career as a Phoenix Suns player in 1996 and has been playing for the Suns team for more years than he has played for other teams.
Steve Nash is pretty aware of every player interested to be in the ring. There were many instances when he and his friends were close to being in the ring. He says that he is not willing to be part of any other team other than the Phoenix team. He is hopeful of a better showing by the Phoenix boys in the upcoming season. The Phoenix Suns also will not be interested in trading their two time All Star point guard as he has proved to be an asset for the team time and time again. The team is willing to hold on to their long served 37 year old point guard for a longer time as there may be interesting offers that may roll in. Nash wants to finish the remaining year of the contract with the Phoenix Suns before thinking of joining another team at the age of 38.
There is news doing rounds in the Dallas Mavericks? camp that they are looking to sign in unrestricted free agent Caron Butler for a long term contract. The 2011 NBA champions will be a much stronger side to content than what they were in 2011 once Butler joins their camp. Mavericks agent Raymond brothers has said that Mavs president of basketball operations Donnie Nelson is very keen to resign their former player Butler. Brothers is hopeful of having successful negotiations with Butler and once this is through, Mavericks will have the nine year old NBA veteran in their ranks for the 2012 NBA championships.
Butler who had to quit the 2011 NBA championship mid way due to injury is working over time on his repaired right knee during offseason to get in perfect shape for the 20112 championship. The two time All Star champion said over the phone that he has fully recovered from the injury that put him in the stands for most of the last season. He has promised that he will be fully fit by the time the new training camp commences. The question that is on everyone?s lip at the moment is whether Butler will choose to play for Dallas Mavericks or will he lured by any other team especially with more and more players choosing to play in the new CBA (Chinese basketball Association) this year.
The Dallas mavericks have been party to the smooth recovery of Butler and were even confronting of playing him for the NBA finals this year. There are rumors that Butler camp is on the look out for a long term deal and that he has no intentions of being auctioned in the open market. The relationship between Butler and the Dallas Mavericks coaching staff is a strong one and this also indicates to Butler willing to stay with the Mavericks. If Baron Butler gets back in the Dallas team, then he is sure to regain his place as the starting small forward and this will push Shawn Marion back to the bench. Butler is determined to get into the thick of things next year and his primary focus now is to get fit. He has let his agent do the dealing for him and he is sure that his agent will put him in the best team. All he wants to do is to serve the game of basketball for a few more years.
